Welcome to:

MOLESCAPE

Your Premier Skin Cancer Clinic

Our Services

We offer the option of full skin checks or checks of limited areas.

We use a specially tuned macroscopic camera that is able to help us detect any parts of the skin that have a significant increase in blood flow. We can also take pictures of parts of the body that are complex or have a large number of moles so we can detect skin cancers sooner.

We take pictures of atypical skin lesions and lesions you are concerned about to allow us to track them over time.

We take the time to examine as many spots on your skin as possible with our special microscopic cameras.

We take the time to answer all of your questions.

We recommend that you book a full skin check if possible because its not uncommon to find something of concern is okay and potentially find a skin cancer elsewhere.

We have the option for you to book either a full check or a spot check. Booking a full check doesn't always mean we will do a full check, sometimes its more important to spend time discussing specific spots. We charge based on how much time you spend with the doctor, because of the thorough nature of our service and the expensive equipment we charge a fee that reflects the value of the service we provide.

Usually, you will need to ring up to book a procedure as we need to figure out how much time a procedure is going to take, but you can book your skin checks online if you would like.

Animal policy: we are happy to have animals in the practice building, as long as they are well behaved. Although only service animals are able to come into our procedure room. Please ring up and let us know, our receptionist Maddie is a former vet nurse and will be delighted to meet your furry friends.

Options for online bookings

 http://healthengine.com.au/book/101504

Please see below for our available services for online bookings.

Please be aware that we offer other services that can't be booked online.

Our fees are based on the time it takes to provide your service and not necessarily the time you book. If in doubt we ask that you book a longer appointment as we may need to ask you to return if we have insufficient time to complete your check.

We recommend a full skin check if you are new to our service. We have some shorter slots that are made available closer to the date for urgent reviews of growing lesions. If there are no urgent slots available, please contact our clinic as we will do our best to fit you in sooner.

If you are coming from a significant distance away and believe you have a lesion that is likely to need a procedure, we can potentially book procedural time as well as a skin check, but you will need to ring and book this.

Due to the nature of these appointments a phone booking is needed to ensure that we have adequate staffing for these appointments

Ultrasound guided removal of deep Implanon

Dr Johnson has a special interest in the removal of deep Implanon's under ultrasound guidance. She does a case every 1-2 months, while the average GP will see 1-2 cases in their entire career.

She is happy to put a new Implanon in at the same time, although it may be placed either at a different site or possibly in the other arm depending on how difficult the removal is. You do need to bring the new Implanon with you to your appointment if you wish to have it inserted.

Ultrasound guided Iron infusion

Ultrasound is used to insert a cannular for an Iron infusion.

Useful for people who have difficult veins.

A referral letter from your GP is required showing iron deficiency or anemia.

Your regular GP will need to prescribe the iron and you will need to bring it with you to your appointment.

You will need to follow up with your regular GP for ongoing care.

Your regular GP will need to prescribe the iron and you will need to bring it with you to your appointment.

You will need to follow up with your regular GP for ongoing care.

Ultrasound guided blood draw

Blood is taken under ultrasound guidance.

Useful for people who have had multiple failed blood taking attempts at a pathology collection center.

Your pathology form is all that you are required to bring to this appointment.

Your results are followed up with your regular doctor, they aren't sent to this practice.

Excision of skin lesion

If you have a known or suspected skin cancer you can book a biopsy or removal if the size and location + suspected diagnosis are provided by your GP. Alternatively, you can book a 15 minute spot check to discuss the removal procedure on a later date.
